SSP income rises to over $8M in Jan-Sept

DEC 11, 2020 BY: The Manila Times

Listed SFA Semicon Philippines Corp. reported on Thursday that its net income grew to $8.45 million in the first nine months of 2020 from $2.86 million in the same period last year. Revenues also rose by 8 percent to $251.6 million in the period from $231.96 million in 2019, it said. In a filing, SSP Chairman and President Joonsang Kang said the company took advantage of the recovery in the personal computer and mobile memory markets, which benefited from strong demand for communications and business-related products amid the lockdowns induced by the coronavirus pandemic. He added that SSP’s topline was driven by higher sales volumes as overall production output improved by 14 percent to 775 million memory units in the first three quarters from 678 million units last year. Production output of DRAM memory modules increased by 5 percent year-on-year to 667 million units from 634 million, while component chips assembled and tested rose to 99 million units from 30 million. SSP shares gained 8 centavos or 5.19 percent to finish at P1.62 apiece on Thursday.
